365 Project:  January 2011 Mosaic
This is Dana.  Before I switched departments, He and I usually were a team.  He is now working in shipping and receiving driving the forklift among other tasks.  He's not only a great worker but He is also great to work with.

29/365 Break Time Pondering

How come a 10 minute break seems like 2 minutes, but the last 2 minutes of the day take forever?  (This is the clock where I work.)

28/365 Work Necessities

They are for me anyway.  My thermos hold 100% Colombian coffee, straight!  The soft cooler, in the summer, holds  8-10 frozen water bottles.  Right now it holds just miscellaneous items.  And my favorite insulated cup.

27/365 Car Troubles

About 8 months ago my wife's father had a stroke.  He had to be rushed to the hospital last Saturday.  He was released today. My wife stayed at the hospital with her mother the entire time.  As she went to start her car to leave it wouldn't start.  She called AAA and they arrived in about 45 minutes to give the battery a jump.  Got it started without any problem.  She went to leave the parking garage and because she didn't have a ticket (free on weekends, no ticket issued) she owed $7.  They didn't not take a card.  Cash or check only.  She was out of checks too.  So she called me again.  My goodness.  So I thought and said there was probably an ATM in the hospital.  But she couldn't shut off the car.  So I remembered that I keep an emergency bag in her car.  It has $20 in it.  Ten $1 and $10 worth of quarters.  She found it, paid the man and got out of there.  I told her we needed milk so she said she would stop at the little store at the corner.  Well they don't take cards either.  What a time.  Needless to say she is glad to be home.  She is sleeping right now.

Checked out the car when she got home.  The charging system is OK, so I'm going to fully charge the battery and hopefully that will be that.  Whew!

24/365 Just Me

I just stood in front of my backdrop, held the camera in front of me and shot till I came up with this.  Camera has a self-portrait mode, used that and no flash.  Had to straighten and crop.

22/365 Been A Workin' Here

Today is my 13 year anniversary as an employee at the factory I work at.  I've worked the weekend shift the entire time.  Three 12's, from Friday through Sunday, 7am to 7pm.  The reason I like working here is for the 4 days I don't.  That allowed me to care for my Dad throughout the week for the past 5 years.  Before that I volunteered at a food pantry and delivered Meals on Wheels.

21/365 What's In Your Pocket?

Well I don't really carry this in my pocket, it is in a pouch on my belt.  I just didn't think "What's On Your Belt?" was very catchy. :-)  Anyway, this is a Leatherman Wave, it is a multi-tool.  When I first started carrying this, about 5 years ago, the hardest thing about it was remembering I had it.  I would say to myself "Gee wish I had a screwdriver, or pliers  or whatever".  Then I would remember I had one right on my belt.  If I'm wearing a belt, I'm wearing this.

20/365 Please Don't Tap Glass

This is a photo of part of my screensaver.  I took it at 16:9 (11 megapixels) and resized it accordingly.  Not the same display in the Treadmill shot.

19/365 Treadmill

I've walked 1.5 miles at 3 mph (that's .5 hrs) on this treadmill at least 4 days a week for the last 3 years.  This week I started walking for an hour.

18/365 Probate

I went to the courthouse this am to submit the paperwork to probate my Dads' Estate.  I'm the Executor.  Checked my watch as I got out of my van and it was 10:02 am.  When I returned it was 10:37 am.  Not too bad.  Have a court date for early next week.

15/365 My Work Area

This is my work area.  It is a punch press.  It puts precision holes in an aluminum tube.  I work a 12 hour shift  and usually produce over 1000 pieces.  I've been at this factory going on 13 years the 22nd and I've been back in this department about 9 months.

Received the gas and electric bill a few days ago.  About $50 more than last months.  I made some adjustments and now I'm monitoring the results.

9/365 Dinner

This tasted as good as it looked, to me anyway!  Thank you to my beautiful Wife!  Not for just the food but the shot also.  I was wondering what today's would be and I sat down to this and here it is!  Straight out of the camera, re-size only!

My Father passed away one month ago today.  This is a calendar we had for him as a gift for Christmas.  It hangs on our wall now.  I miss you Dad.

7/365 Heading Home

The view out of my windshield of the parking lot where I work.  It was my first day back after an 18 day vacation and I'm heading home.  Don't feel bad for me though, I just work the weekends.  Friday to Sunday 7am-7pm.

5/365 Dandy In January?

How unusual is that?  Decembers' average temperature here was 30 degrees F.  I found this in the front yard near the corner of my house.  This is straight out of the camera too.  All I did was re-size. One of the best yet from this little camera.  Started to crop some of the right side but changed my mind.

4/365 Reflection

Out of everything I took today this is the one I like.  It is a reflection in the lower half of the Good Shepherd statue that is posted earlier.

1/365 Brandi

This is the first photo of my 365 project.  This is our Boxer, Brandi.  She just turned 11 in November.  We've had her since she was 6 weeks old.  She is fawn with a black, now turned gray, mask.  This is one of the first photographs I've taken with my new Kodak M575.  The only processing I did was to remove the 'green eye', crop and re-size it.
