365 Project: February 2011

A Mosaic of Photos from February 2011.

59/365 Three of Hearts

Knew I wanted to do hearts for the last shot of February.  So I had to move my wife's purse as I was setting up my original idea for a shot and saw these hearts.  So here it is.  SOOC.

58/365 Ferris Wheel

Went to the fairgrounds today.  This is a shot of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.  It has closed permanently.  Someone is attempting to buy it and reopen it.  Wish it would have been sunny but this is what I got.

57/365 Me, Again?

Yes, sorry.  Another selfie of me.  I think my expression is a little better in this one, not as forced.  I did do a crop so I would not blind you or give you the impression this is the 'before' shot for the hair club for men. xD

56/365 The Magic...And Where It All Happens

This is where it all happens.  Breathtaking isn't it? :D

55/365 Harley-Davidson Model

This is a model of a 1999 Harley-Davidson FXSTB Night Train from the curio cabinet.  I rode a Harley (not this type but an XLX) for over 18 years and had almost 90k on it when I sold it.  I believe this is a model from Avon but I'm not sure.  I like the dof.

54/365 Lomish Sunset

53/365 Two Hearts Tender Thoughts

I searched for hearts today here in the house but neither my Wife's jewelry or anything in the curio cabinet was what I wanted.   I was clearing my table and moved the Valentine's Day Card my Wife gave me and this was on the back of it.  I did some pp and here is exactly what I was looking for!

51/365 ♫On Top Of Spaghetti...♫

You know the rest... :D  I'm wearing out these song title's and this little symbol "♫".  This was dinner tonight and today's photo, compliments of my wife.  Tasted as good as it looked.  Had fresh out of the oven chocolate-chip cookies for desert!  Sorry no pic of them. :(

47/365 Goin' down to Yasgur's Farm

Also know as "Woodstock".  As I was going through the light this was to my left waiting for the other light to change.  As I was turning a couple of miles further up the road I was going to try to catch it as it passed me.  It came in behind me and turned also.  About a block later it turned into a drive.  I came back around and got this.

46/365 Floral Splash

I managed to catch a few good water drops/splashes with the little point and shoot.  Really wanted one for the 365 with it.  This crop was one of the most unusual.  Again just a simple bowl of water in the sink, faucet dripping, in macro mode with the flash.  The original was sort of flat so I did use an online editor, FotoFlexer, to auto adjust the colors.  IrfanView just didn't produce what I was looking for.

45/365 Happy Valentine's Day

From My Lovely Wife!  (These are sitting on top of a box of liquid-filled chocolate covered cherries).

44/365 Co-Workers: Garry

This is Garry.  He's worked at the factory the same amount of time that I have, 13 years.  He was my Lead Person before I switched departments.  When he sees me now he yells "Neighbor", because I am now in a "neighboring" department.  He is running the overhead crane here.  He sometimes walks around the plant handing out Dum Dum lollipops.   He usually gives me 2! :D

42/365 ♫You Deserve A Break Today♫

♫So get up and get away to McDonald's♫  Guess you can tell where I had lunch today.  Got coupons in the mail yesterday.  Most of them were for breakfast but had one page for lunch.  This was a free medium fry and a medium drink when you buy any Angus Burger.  I chose the mushroom and swiss.  All together $4.23 including tax.  It was Ok.  SOOC.

41/365 A "Model" Neighborhood

A shot from just outside the door and processed at Tilt Shift Maker.  Just wanted one for the 356 Project.  I like the first one I did a little better.  To see it check out my flickr stream at Theophilus Photography.

40/365 My 365 Gear

This is the little camera I've taken all of my 365 Project 2011 shots with so far.  It's a Kodak M575 point and shoot.  It has 14 MP's, a 5x optical zoom with in the lens image stabilization, 720p HD video, face recognition and a 3-inch LCD screen.  This is a mirror shot I flipped at Convert Hub.  So far I am pleased with this camera though there is no comparing it to even my old Kodak Z612 with 6 MP's.  These little cameras make up for the pencil eraser sized lens opening with high MP's.  The flash is also, in my opinion, overpowering at times.  It is very difficult to get any bokeh even in the so-called macro mode.  High speed photography, such as capturing water drops, is next to impossible.  However this camera wasn't designed for any of those things, but the limited things it can do it does well.  It is small and easy to carry around so that you can take those quick shots or videos of friends and family or whatever and get great results.  I have a pouch that it resides in on my belt.  Very handy.  Costing right at $100 it is a great deal.  All in all if you are looking for a point and shoot or an SLR-type camera check out Kodak.  We own 3 and are pleased with them.  Steve's DIGICAMS Kodak M575 Review

39/365 Two Months

My Dad passed away two months ago today, December the 8th, 2010.  This is his cane and his walker.  He used the cane to negotiate the stairs and for getting into the car.  He used the walker the rest of the time.  I miss you Dad!

35/365 Betty Boop Bingo Dobber

Say that 3 times fast. :D  Here is another "heart" stopper from the curio cabinet.  I chose this because it is unusual, has hearts and I recently saw a photo of a statue of Marilyn in this pose.  We don't play bingo but we do collect Betty.

34/365 Faux Moonlit Night

Went down to the river today.  Came up with this in my processor.  I sort of like it.

33/365 Uncle Sam

I saw this guy on my way to Walmart and snapped a few shots but I wasn't happy with them.  When I left the store I went back the same way.  I was able to stop the van and get his attention.  I shot this through the passenger side door glass.  I did crop and boost the colors slightly.

32/365 Mini Kiss Kiss Plush

I was inspired by all those doing 'heart' themed photos.  Not sure if I'll keep it up.  These are from the ever-ready curio cabinet.  You never know what you may find in there.  The tag is where the title comes from.  They each have an opposite pole magnet in their noses.  Thus they "Kiss".  :">  SOOC.  (Missed a day posting again :()

365 Project: January 2011

A Mosaic of Photos from January 2011.

31/365 Polaroid Land Camera Model 95B

This something of my Dad's that I wanted.  This is what gave me an interest in photography.  It has the original case and a wide variety of accessories.  Thanks Dad, I miss you!  And Thank You Brother.  SOOC.  (A family emergency prevented me from posting this on the exact day.  Everything is fine.)
